Avani Broadbeach Residences

We had a three night stay at Avani in room 907, a one bedroom suite. The location worked well for us, close to Pacific Fair, restaurants, and a few blocks from the beach. The pool was a good size and had plenty of deck chairs. For the price, it was good value, though there are a few things they could improve. We were on level 9 facing the highway, and traffic sped past all night. Construction at nearby buildings woke us at 6:30 every morning. The apartment was sparsely stocked: just 3 glasses, 3 mugs, 4 plates, and 4 of each piece of cutlery. One sachet of dishwashing liquid wasn’t enough, but buying more for a short stay felt wasteful. We checked in at 10:30 pm. A call asking when we’d arrive came around 6:30 pm, which would have been more useful earlier. The late check-in agent didn’t explain the pool towels or other amenities, and we only learned about them after asking a few days later. There are signs everywhere saying late checkout costs $40, but a helpful front desk agent told us membership came with a 12 pm checkout. They also held our bags.

We came to the Gold Coast for the first time to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, so it was especially disappointing to find our room, 303, in such poor shape. Small flying insects were in the room, which made us question its cleanliness, and the Wi-Fi was so weak it was almost unusable. The headboard on the main bedroom bed fell off on day two, which was startling and felt like a safety concern. The shower hose in that bathroom was broken too, so showering properly was difficult. We reported all of it to the front desk, but heard nothing back and got no follow-up. The room and service didn’t meet expectations. I won’t stay here again or recommend it.

My fiancé and I spent a couple of nights here and really enjoyed the short stay. The spa was lovely and hot, and the pool was very clean. The place itself was clean too, and the staff were lovely. It’s close to Pacific Fair and the Star, with an easy walk to the beach. We’d definitely come back.

Room 303 was horrid. Flies were everywhere, along with mosquitoes, and my brother is allergic to them. The flies got into our food and drinks, so we had to throw things away. We bought food and milk, and when I used them, flies flew into them. Such a waste. I was disgusted and really disappointed. I HATED this STUPID hotel. Stay away, thanks for reading, don’t stay here!
