Carrington Court

On the 25th Sept, during our stay in an apartment booked through AirBnB, I asked the Manager where we could safely park a second car locally for one night, since our apartment came with only 1 space. He was rude and unhelpful, saying he didn't know and that AirBnB had nothing to do with him. I said I was fine parking offsite and just wanted a recommendation for somewhere secure. He shrugged and said, "what do you want me to do, pull a parking space out of .....". I was so shocked that I just walked away.

We had planned to stay at Carrington Court, but had to cancel on the day because our 4-month old child became ill with a respiratory virus and needed to be admitted to hospital. We tried contacting the hotel by phone and email and got no response, and we were charged the full rate. Eventually we reached the manager, David, and asked if a partial refund or credit toward a future stay was possible. He refused and offered “a better rate” instead, which wasn't acceptable given the circumstances and the large cost. In the context of the pandemic, that inflexible refund policy is extraordinarily shortsighted. We'd hoped for our first family holiday since covid, but we won't stay at Carrington Court again and would actively advise others against it.

The room was 10/10, with an amazing view and far more space than I expected. It's bigger than any other 2 bedroom apartment I've stayed in. The owners really are lovely, as other reviews say. I went out for dinner and got back around 9pm, only to realize I'd picked up the wrong set of keys. I called Mike, and he saved the day by bringing me another set for my apartment. Even though I interrupted his evening so late, he was still incredibly polite and didn't seem bothered at all. Thanks again! I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

We booked a unit for 5 days through www. carringtoncourt . com. au and received confirmation after providing our credit card details. It turned out the website system wasn't run by the actual hotel owner and redirected us to another 3rd party platform. The hotel considered our booking and email confirmation invalid, then told us it was fully booked. There was some inconsistent information. We'd hoped to have a good time there, but recommend calling reception to confirm availability and the booking. Don't trust the online system.
