We came back recently for our anniversary, 20 years after staying here for our honeymoon. The family-owned, family-run feel made it such a nice visit. We stayed in the Country Cottage, with an incredible view, a private porch and a private patio and dock over the water. Mornings with coffee and evenings with drinks overlooking the bay were lovely. They were very accommodating with deliveries, and I love that it's dog friendly. I'm thankful places like this still exist in an area that's become so popular.
The kids loved the pools, and the kids club they attended was a big hit. The splash park was exciting until they realized how cold the water was. Heated water would make it five stars, though I guess that may depend on the time of year. Our room was quiet and had everything we needed, including a washing machine and dryer. The rooms are a bit dated but clean, with great showers and the bonus of two bathrooms for the family. The heat pump worked well, though the beds could be more comfortable. There's a supermarket, butcher and liquor store nearby. All in all, a great place to stay. We'd definitely return and highly recommend it.
We decided not to check in after a quick walk around the grounds and an underwhelming lunch. We had booked a week here as a family of four with two small children, but instead found somewhere else on the Gold Coast. The property looked tired and poorly maintained, nowhere near the standard shown online. In our opinion, the advertising photos seemed heavily edited and didn't reflect the place as it was. Getting around also looked inconvenient. The resort is on a busy road, with little atmosphere or much to do nearby, so we'd have needed Ubers or public transport constantly to reach worthwhile places. When we raised our concerns, staff weren't flexible or understanding, and offered neither a refund nor a meaningful resolution despite the gap between what we expected and what we found. Our extended family went elsewhere on the Gold Coast too, and had a much better holiday. I would caution families against relying only on the marketing when booking. In our opinion, Surfers Paradise or another part of the Gold Coast can offer a better family holiday, facilities and value for money.
The kids had a great time in the pools and splash zone, and the shuttle to the theme parks was great too. The driver was awesome. We stayed six nights in a three-bedroom apartment, which we found lovely. The apartment and facilities were great, the front-of-house crew were helpful and lovely, and the Deck restaurant team were brilliant, with great food and service. Bloody excellent all round. Cheers for the stay, we'll definitely be back in a few years.
We spent a week here with family and friends, and everyone had a great time, whatever their age. The breakfast bag waiting on arrival was a lovely surprise and meant we could feed the kids the next morning without leaving the resort. Having several pools was great, and the splash pad was a hit. The team at the Deck were amazing, and every staff member we met was professional and very friendly. The supermarket next door was super handy. Once the tram is finished being built, there'll be even more transport options. We definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back.
