H Luxury Residence Apartments - HP Surfers Paradise

The building has great views, a great location, and access to Hilton amenities. The private apartment itself was dated, worn, untidy, and not clean, with an uncomfortable bed and a clearly cheap mattress. It didn’t feel welcoming at all. The room could be great with proper maintenance, but it isn’t maintained. It definitely isn’t five-star. I’d suggest staying at the actual Hilton Hotel or choosing somewhere else.

Surfers is right on the doorstep, and the balcony views were amazing, but the rest was terrible. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly. The floor was dirty and stained, so we vacuumed it as soon as we arrived. The laundry cupboard was a mess, with old towels and things left about, as if nobody checks inside cupboards. Cockroaches were scurrying around the balcony. Check-in and checkout were a nightmare because another company manages the place, so you can’t use The Hilton reception or services. You have to communicate by text, send photos of your driver’s license, pay a deposit, then collect the key from a lock box. Getting into the room felt like an escape room with all the obstacles. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and staff were generally friendly and helpful. The room was tidy and met our expectations, while the hotel felt clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a pleasant atmosphere and convenient location. A few small things could be improved to make it a five-star stay, but nothing major affected us. Good value overall, and I’d consider coming back.

The pools and BBQ area were a real highlight, and we liked how well placed it was in Surfers, near Cavil Ave, food choices, and family outings. Parking onsite was handy, and the deposit was returned, though it took more than 10 working days. We stayed for seven days at the end of October. The apartment was a decent size, with good amenities and great overall facilities. The rooms were reasonably sized, there were no bed bugs, and the TVs, washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher all worked. Still, it was worn down, with broken window fixtures, a jammed bathtub plug, no bathroom vents, and cracks in the walls. A freshen-up would help. The musty smell was hard to get past from the moment we arrived. We had to open the sliding doors every morning, and I wiped dust from the vents with disinfectant wipes. I and four of our kids have asthma, and the smell aggravated it during the trip.
