Iconic Kirra Beach Resort

We spent two weeks here in a two-bedroom oceanfront room and had a great time. The coast views stretched almost 189 degrees, from Coolangatta rock wall to Surfers Paradise. The rooms were lovely, the staff friendly, and the location perfect. We were very happy and would book again.

The location was excellent and the accommodation was good, but be careful booking through booking.com. The advertised two-bedroom with an ocean-facing balcony wasn’t what we got. Our balcony looked onto a side street, with only a partial ocean view. It hadn’t been cleaned, either. The second bedroom had no air conditioning, and with the beds set up as twins, the door couldn’t be opened or closed.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. The view took in both the ocean and mountains, and restaurants, shops and the beach were all nearby. It’s a beautiful part of the Gold Coast, right by the Qld and NSW border. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

DISGRACEFUL!! They charged us $200 and then emailed claiming my 11-year-old had forcefully jumped on and broken a rollaway bed. I was right beside my daughter when it collapsed as she tried to sit on it, crushing her foot. When I reported it to reception, the receptionist didn’t look us in the eyes or ask anything, just got our room number and said they’d replace it. We’re proud of our kids. They didn’t jump on the bed, and we even teach them to clean up before checking out. It’s disgraceful that nobody had the decency to discuss this with us, they just charged us. Hiding behind an email to take $200 instead of having a respectful conversation is easy. If I were the owner, I’d be ashamed to run a business like this. They never give their patrons the benefit of the doubt.
