Novotel Surfers Paradise

The location was the highlight: easy access to the beach, public transport, shops, and plenty of restaurants made getting around Surfers Paradise comfortable. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful too, which we appreciated. But this stay at Novotel Surfers Paradise on 11/01 was a letdown compared with our usual Novotel stays. We often choose Novotel for comfort and to use our membership and points. The lift smelled unpleasant, and in the room the towel hanger was on the floor, as if nobody had dealt with it. The gym was small with limited equipment. Breakfast was decent, but repeated the same options each day and got tiresome on a longer stay. The pool area was okay. Overall the hotel quality didn’t match the standard we usually expect from Novotel. More attention to maintenance, cleanliness, and variety could make this property much better.

For an affordable stay in Surfers Paradise, this place is excellent value. The beach is only a short walk away, which made it easy to spend relaxing days by the sea. We had everything we needed, and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a budget friendly place near the beach.

The pool could really use some shade, and we would have appreciated any acknowledgement of our special anniversary request. Still, our interactions with staff were all pleasant, the service was extraordinary, and the room was clean with quick, efficient housekeeping. They also gave us the late checkout we asked for without any fuss, even though we ended up not needing it. That was appreciated.

The ocean view from our Ocean View Deluxe Room was beautiful, and it was nice to have a friend visiting from overseas. But the bathroom didn’t meet what I’d expect at a 4-star property. The fixtures looked dated and there was noticeable sand on the floor. Water escaped around the shower screen and left the floor wet after every shower. We also had to buy a toothbrush from the hotel because none were provided. I hope they address the bathroom’s condition so future guests can have a comfortable, well maintained stay.
