There’s no air conditioning in the bedrooms, even though the unit is advertised as air conditioned. The only unit is in the lounge room, where it keeps turning off, so it’s hard to cool the place consistently and impossible to cool the bedrooms. Reception closed early on our arrival day, so we couldn’t raise our concerns when we got there. Later, reception told me the ocean views are on the top floors in the cheaper standard rooms. We paid extra for a deluxe room advertised on the website with an ocean view, and specifically asked for a high floor in case that wasn’t assumed. Instead we got level two, the lowest level as reception is on level 1, with only Norfolk palms and cars to look at. Late checkout, such as midday, wasn’t possible unless we paid for it. Very disappointing, especially as it certainly wasn’t cheap. Don’t spend your hard earned money on a deluxe room. I’d book standard, or look somewhere more transparent about its advertising.

We walked everywhere, and the staff were kind and friendly. The room was fantastic, with wonderful beach views and super comfortable beds, and we’d stay again. The four-star rating is because the gym equipment is old and a bit rusted and needs updating. The spa didn’t work until the last couple of days of our trip, and the internet struggled.

We had two terrible nights’ sleep. Our room was on the floor above reception, with no ocean view and no working AC. There were no fly screens, so we had to sleep with the doors open, dealing with street lights, noise from homeless people in the carpark, cars driving past, and the risk of someone coming into the room. The guy at reception was friendly and said the problem was out of his control and he’d pass our concerns to management. We’d asked to move to another room with AC or get a partial refund. Three days later, there was still no reply. We booked a deluxe room advertised with “Ocean Views” and Air Conditioning, and I checked the website several times. We told reception the AC wasn’t working at 3pm on Friday, when we were booked for Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday morning, we got a text thanking us for reporting it and saying an AC technician would come Monday. That wouldn’t help us. The receptionist said the previous guest had stayed in the room for two weeks without saying anything. But I found a Google review from four weeks earlier describing our exact room and saying the AC was broken then too. I feel we had much the same experience as the review from four weeks ago by “Food & Travel”. After reading other Google Reviews, I expect I’m about to get roasted like everyone else who’s had a bad experience. If as much effort went into maintenance and honest advertising for the deluxe rooms as into those replies, neither of us would have to waste our time here. Please give this place a miss.

The staff made the stay feel even better, they were all lovely and ready to help. The apartment was spotless and neat, with a fresh renovation that gives it a modern feel. We also found the location really convenient, close to everything we needed. A lovely place to stay for comfort and good service.
