It’s a beautiful spot for enjoying the Gold Coast, with shops and the beach close by, plus your own pontoon on the waterway. The house could use more upkeep, though. Several small fixes are needed, like non-working light bulbs, towel hooks coming out of the wall, and a BBQ that doesn’t fully work. There are other little things on the list too, all needed to keep the place a great house for different people to enjoy.

The spa was the last straw: it didn’t work, and there were short black curly hairs in it. There was dust and hair around the place, too, and my guests said the dirty cushions and old, smelly carpet made it seem like a party house. The place looks nice at first, but closer up it needs a proper scrub, including the mouldy grout in the ensuite. Apparently the owner does the cleaning themselves, while also charging for cleaning.

The home and property manager are great. Shortozstay, though, is another story. Trying to get your bond back from them is like getting blood from a stone, so I wouldn’t book through Shortozstay.
