Paul was friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed chatting with him. I was a little surprised he didn’t know the names of some of the visiting birds, or that bread and Jatz biscuits aren’t ideal for them. Birds are such a feature here, so it would be great to include that kind of information in the guest experience. The setting is as beautiful as I remembered from my second visit in 12 years. Birds and possums regularly come onto the deck, which is special, and we really enjoyed the walking track from the chalets to the Apple Tree tracks. The cabins don’t seem to have changed much. The kitchen and lounge were quite dark during the day, so we needed the lights on. I’ve also taken off a star because some windows were dirty. The view from the spa is gorgeous, but its window, the sliding glass doors and the round mezzanine window in the lounge all needed cleaning. With such a lovely outlook, clean glass would make a real difference. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place, and a few small improvements could make it even better.

Bird seed is provided, so you can watch nature arrive at your front deck. The room has what you need, including good cooking facilities and a roomy fridge for supplies. It’s also central to the main walks in the area, and they’re all worth the effort. A very relaxing place to chill out and good for the soul. If you can’t switch off here, it might be time for a job change.

We’ve already booked our next getaway here and can’t wait to return. The chalets are great, the kitchen is well equipped, and the atmosphere is tranquil, with wildlife welcome around the property. Host Paul was very friendly and made us feel welcome. I’d highly recommend a stay.

The birds and other wildlife were lovely, and Paul was a great host. We loved how peaceful it was, exactly what we wanted. Our chalet was clean and cozy, with plenty of amenities. We’ll be back.

The chalet was cozy but had enough room for two, and the customer service was excellent. We spent 3 nights in a beautiful spot close to waterfalls, lookouts and heritage routes. The native birds were friendly for wild birds. Can’t wait to return, it really felt like a home away from home.
