The view over the whole Gold Coast is amazing. Floor-to-ceiling windows run along the living area, and there’s another balcony off the bedrooms. The building and apartments feel a little tired and could use a renovation, but it was clean, and the view made up for the wear.

There’s a tennis court, indoor and outdoor pools, and a sauna, and the grounds are looked after carefully by several full-time maintenance and grounds staff. Most residents are long-term renters or owner-occupiers, with only a couple of short-stay or holiday units that I’ve noticed. It’s quiet and friendly nearly all the time, a real blessing in Surfers when there can be so much partying through the year. My one-bedroom apartment is, I think, around 112m2, absolutely massive. I’ve lived here as a permanent tenant for several years and will miss the space when we move. These apartments are huge, from the late 1970s to early 1980s, before minimalism was on anyone’s mind. The location is hard to beat. Northcliffe G:Link tram stop is right next door, with trams to Broadbeach or north to Helensvale, where you can connect to the heavy rail for Brisbane and beyond. Surfers Paradise central is a ten-minute walk, and the beach is under five minutes away. You can see it from the easterly units on all but the lowest floors. It’s a beautiful thing to wake up to.

The tram is right at the door, and the beach and surf club are just one block away. The apartments are large and have great views. Facilities include an outdoor pool, spa, heated indoor pool, tennis court, and grassy BBQ area.
