Minto Beach House

The resort is lovely and well located. Units are privately owned, so what’s included varies. We stayed in 607, which had free Wi-Fi, air conditioning throughout, brand-new, very comfortable beds and great ocean views. Thoroughly recommended.

The room looked clean and well presented, but it felt quite dated. The bed sagged in the middle and was so uncomfortable that it was hard to sleep or get settled. There were no markings on the bathroom shower or sink to show which way was hot or cold.

Room 201 was filthy, damp-smelling and very run down. The old sofa, rug, dining table and chairs were in terrible shape, the beds were old and uncomfortable, and the oven had a broken seal that left me with a burnt leg. There was hair and a snotty tissue in the wardrobe. The fridge was dirty, and we had to wash the kitchen items before using them because there was old food on the cutlery and other things. Dirt caked onto the toilet doorstop made it seem like grime had built up over time, not just from one poor clean. I showed reception photos and explained the problems. The response was an offer to wipe down the surfaces, along with blaming new cleaning staff and saying there wasn’t enough time to check their work. It was a real letdown. My mum and dad were visiting from the UK, and I’d arranged this little getaway for them. I felt embarrassed, especially as I’d stayed here before and found it pleasant. Sadly, this will be my last visit.

We had a wonderful time here as a family of five. We came for a wedding, and my husband surprised us with this resort across the road from the beach. The room was magnificent, with a view to die for. Thanks to all the staff for keeping such a wonderful resort open. We even had a few visitors come by to say goodnight.
