Mandelsons is close to shops and restaurants, and the owners were friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights during a midwinter visit to Goulburn and got a lovely welcome to the beautiful home, then were shown to a gorgeous room. It had antique furnishings alongside a modern bathroom, and the old heating system worked very well.

I usually hate hotel and motel rooms, but Mandelson's feels different: friendly, beautiful and safe, with that clean-house smell. The little courtyard is wonderful to sit in after a long day. I haven't managed to have breakfast there because I always leave too early, but the fruit is always fresh and plentiful. If you visit Goulburn and can afford it, staying here is a treat.

The building itself has been beautifully restored, but the accommodation is in the rather ordinary Annexe at the rear. The furnishings and linen are high quality. Truck traffic along Sloane Street can be noisy.

Steve and Claire are welcoming hosts, and the hotel is close to some good places to eat. There is a locked back gate and access is kept locked at all times, which makes security a priority. A boutique place with lots of character, well worth visiting.

The hosts were so accommodating, attentive and friendly, and the two gorgeous pups were a lovely bonus. I'd highly recommend it to family and friends.
