A cosy, comfortable cottage with stunning views, right on the waterfront in the truest sense. It’s a great place to get away from the city’s hustle and bustle and slow down surrounded by nature.

We loved seeing the friendly pelicans each morning, along with the adorable bunnies and ducks that my family enjoyed. The cottages are cosy and well maintained, and the calm, picturesque setting makes it easy to unwind and reconnect with nature. Right beside the water, it also gives you stunning stargazing at night. A magical escape for nature lovers, and a memorable stay I’d happily revisit.

Bringing our cats along was perfect here, and the location was beautiful. The cottage was nicely presented and clean overall, although a couple of spots needed more attention. The kitchen had a good range of appliances. I’m very happy with the cottage we stayed in, and we’ll definitely come back.

There was mould on the bedroom ceiling in our cabin, and the bedroom floor slopes badly enough that the bed sits at an angle. The floors need upgrading. Cabin 4 is marked strictly no pets, yet people staying there had a dog in the room that barked a lot.

Cabin 3 sits a little back from the water, so book Cabin 1 or 2 if you want to be right on the waterfront. We had a pretty good two-night stay and it’s good value, as long as you don’t expect anything fancy. Check-in is self-service. The cabin is old but very clean, and has nearly everything you need. The queen bed was comfortable, the toilets and showers were pretty good, and there are plenty of bunk beds. Laundry is in another building. Bring your own cooking utensils, though. The supplied ones weren’t great, with no tongs or sharp knife. The lounge furniture wasn’t very comfortable, and the outdoor table is well past its best, but that didn’t matter much since we spent most of our time out and about. The property has its own wharf, but fishing there wasn’t very productive. I caught a tonne of fish nearby, close to the boat ramp.
