The Table Guesthouse

Helena and her husband were friendly and made us feel welcome. The beds were comfortable, the towels clean, and the fireplace made the place feel cozy. Just be aware it’s more of a B&B than a hotel, and we found breakfast quite poor. A lot of the Google photos seem to be from the previous owners, so the beautifully laid table and gourmet food shown there may not match what you get.

We stayed for one night while visiting Hunter Valley wineries. With only three rooms, it was peaceful, and both the room and garden were lovely. Jo was a fantastic host. Breakfast was nicely cooked, with fresh bread, and she made the best flat white I’d had in Australia during my six weeks there. It’s dog friendly, so if you stay a few nights, you might run into a new four-legged friend.

Jo was so thoughtful throughout our three nights, and we loved every cup of tea she made, along with her chopping up watermelon for us. The breakfasts were freshly cooked, delicious, and different each day. We also recommend having dinner at Jo’s place: the ingredients, flavours, and presentation felt like fine dining, right in the comfort of the guesthouse. Our room was clean and very comfortable. It was humid and hot during our stay, but the air conditioning handled it well. We had a wonderful time there with our dog Shady and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you, Jo.

Breakfast at the cafe across the main street was excellent, and the coffee was so good we bought beans to take home. It was our first visit to the Hunter valley with our dog, and the charming, pet-friendly building was close to the main winery area. The staff and owner families were very accommodating. We had a relaxed, fun time in our room and the common area, drinking wine and playing board games. Thanks so much, we’ll definitely be back.
