Abode - The Apartment Hotel

There were five of us in the family room, and the smell of sewerage was hard to ignore. The carpet was stained, the tiles didn’t look mopped, and there were marks on the walls that looked like old blood. Our room faced the McDonald’s drive thru, so cars and the speaker kept us awake all night. We didn’t want the kids playing on that floor.

The staff were lovely and friendly, but they seemed out of their depth when it came to dealing with complaints. For $215 a night, I expected more than two sets of crockery and cutlery, a missing shower curtain that let water go everywhere, and a dish sponge cut in half. The mattresses were atrocious.

We keep choosing this place because it seems to fit what we need. Booking and check-in are easy, the staff are great, and the rooms are clean with good amenities.

We had the executive king studio, which was laid out well and had everything we needed. It was a great pet-friendly room, with a very comfy mattress and a fantastic location. The staff were so kind and friendly. The carpet was a bit stained and could do with steam cleaning, but I’d still highly recommend it.
