Frangipani 7 on Hamilton Drive

The location is second to none, and we loved our stay in 102. The unit is spacious, with an ever changing view of all those blues as the tides shift. The bathrooms have recently been renovated, while the kitchen is a little dated, though it has everything you need. Already planning our next visit.

The service was very good, and I’d stay again. These are all privately owned rentals, so the upgrades, safety features, and appliances vary a lot. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked for us.

The ground floor location meant people walked through the grassed area, so there was no privacy. At Hibiscus 003, the view of Catseye Beach was excellent, and the beach, pools, and other resorts were within walking distance. The rest was disappointing. The apartment needs a refurbishment, especially the ageing bathroom. The sofa was so dirty that we asked for sheets to cover it, and both king bed mattresses were old and very uncomfortable. The two screen doors were so broken you’d need Mr Incredible to open and close them, though with tradespeople around the island it seems like a simple fix. If you’re looking for accommodation on Hamilton Island, I wouldn’t book this apartment. It wasn’t worth the money.

Hibiscus made for a perfect island getaway. We had seven fantastic nights and would stay there again.
