The apartment was spotless and well cared for, and the grounds were immaculate. Mine had everything I needed to cook for myself, and the bed was comfortable. You can walk to the beach even if you’re not especially fit, and there’s a lovely family of curlews right outside. For shopping, though, you’ll need a car to get to Cabarita or Pottsville. There’s a small shop at the servo, a cafe at the caravan park next door, and the General Store does takeaway meals. Getting to your apartment is a bit of a hunt because you’re given a key but no directions. A map would help. The unit I had was very old-fashioned and due for an update, with no bedside lamps or cushions, and no ceiling fans. I’d have preferred fans to having to shut up the apartment and use the aircon. It also felt overpriced for what it was. There are lots of families with little kids here, so expect noise, including babies crying for a while. That could be hard if you’re older and hoping for peace and quiet. Even so, I’d stay again and recommend it as long as you know what to expect.

We found plenty to like: the place was clean, modern, easy to access, in a great location, and the internet was excellent. Netflix was there too, and we’ll be back. As a dad travelling with my daughter, privacy can be tricky for us. The toilet was so tiny you practically had to be a contortionist to get in. Also, the second bedroom had a louvre door that wouldn’t shut properly and couldn’t be locked. That might be fine for kids, but it didn’t work for me.

The location was perfect, and the downstairs unit looks nicely renovated. Unit 19, where we stayed, was dated and not clean. There were old yellow pillows and blankets for the doonas and pillowcases, only four towels for the six of us, and building materials stored in the wardrobes. All the units are privately owned, and this owner didn’t seem to care much.

The mattresses need replacing because they’re sagging, and noise carries through the walls. Still, I’d stay again. The managers were friendly and helpful, the apartments were clean and had what we needed for a short visit, and the creek is close by with only a short walk to the beach.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the apartment was clean and tidy, though a bit dated. It’s close to the water, but you’ll need to drive to the shops. There was a lot of construction while we were there, and the daytime noise was incredibly loud. There was no WiFi in the apartment. It was available around the pool and reception, but it was raining so we didn’t use it.
