The staff were friendly, and dinner at the on-site restaurant was pretty good. My room was spacious, comfortable and well maintained, with good facilities. Even the freezer in the bar fridge was strong enough to refreeze my cooler’s ice packs overnight. I’d gladly stay again. For the best value, sign up as a Choice member and book directly on their website.

A handy stopover, with clean, fresh rooms and the basics covered: tea and coffee, a fridge with freezer, and a TV that’s a good size for the room. The showers were clean and worked really well. There was no road noise, and getting to the rooms was easy.

The room at Bishops Lodge was comfortable, clean and well maintained, and the receptionist was lovely. The main letdown was finding the restaurant closed on Friday night. I’d booked partly so we could eat without driving around looking for somewhere decent after a full day on the road. Getting back in the car didn’t appeal, and my husband is still recovering from a major operation, so walking into town wasn’t an option. Fortunately, neither of us was especially hungry.

The pool appeared to be undergoing some work and wasn’t available, but I hadn’t planned to swim, so that was fine. The room was presentable, clean, tidy and well kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely come back if I’m in this area again. Thumbs up.
