The views from the Delatite cottage were phenomenal, and the area was quiet, with Jamieson and Mansfield nearby for pubs, cafes and parks. We’d had such a great stay at the Black Sparrow before that we came back. George, the caretaker, really made this visit, going above and beyond and providing exceptional service. He showed us local spots, including the Mansfield zoo, which I highly recommend, and the animals at Black Sparrow. Thanks to George for making it so memorable. I can’t recommend this place enough for a peaceful getaway.

We’ll stay here again. The chalet was beautiful and peaceful, the staff were super friendly, and the view was magnificent. The heating was great, and the spa was incredible. I’d absolutely recommend it to couples looking for some peace and quiet.

We had a great chance to relax away from home life at this private chalet. It has plenty of character, a lovely spa bath and a wood fire, plus spectacular views and wildlife. The estate is still developing and has a few family activities. The hosts communicated well, and town is a 20-minute drive if you want to dine out.

The spa in my cabin wasn’t working during my stay, but the owner responded quickly, apologised sincerely, and I trust it’ll be fixed for future guests. Even with that hiccup, I really enjoyed my time at The Black Sparrow and am thinking about coming back for a girls’ weekend. The warm hospitality, peaceful setting and wildlife made it a lovely place to unwind. I was there to support my son at his school camp at Camp Howqua, and it gave me some welcome “mama time out.” The clean, cosy cabins were simple and charming, set on 50 acres of native bushland. Wildlife wanders freely, and I spotted deer and kangaroos. There are llamas and sheep in a paddock, and nature trails for quiet walks and a chance to reconnect with nature.

The Alpacas were a highlight and gave the stay a special charm. My partner and I wanted a romantic break from the city, and the Amber Chalet was surrounded by peaceful countryside and beautiful sunsets. It had everything we needed, including a BBQ, a collection of classic DVDs and a full kitchen. You arrive through grand country gates and follow a long driveway to this secluded little gem. A lovely place to reset and enjoy some peace.
