The kitchen was poorly equipped for eight people, with no decent-sized pots or full sets of utensils and cutlery. A wooden pantry beside the hotplates was already warped. The lounge sofas turned into beds, and beneath the cushions were cracked chipboard planks. There was no drying room in any unit, no heat downstairs in our two-storey apartment, and one bathroom was in the laundry. The apartment's cleanliness was questionable too, with cobwebs everywhere and hair behind the bathroom doors. I also found the owner extremely rude. When I reported damage, he expected me to meet the tradesman and show him the problem. There's no office for the apartments, so you have to go up the street to collect your key. Safety was a major concern: the bunk beds slid apart easily and could come apart. They'd once been held together by nails, but were just sitting on top of them. A cross-slat on the upper bunk end fell off, and the top bunk support came off as well. The wardrobe had no built-ins, and the top architrave piece facing the supposedly safe bunk was missing, leaving a pointed piece of wood facing whoever climbed the ladder. If the income from these apartments were invested back into them, I think they'd be much better. Until then, I can't recommend this business.

The trip was thrown into uncertainty by the Covid pandemic in 2020. Some of our group were healthcare professionals, and others were meant to travel from overseas, which was no longer possible. We couldn't know when or whether we'd still make the trip. The owner wasn't helpful and seemed concerned only about himself losing money. He refused a refund from the start, so we were pushed into rescheduling. Then he acted as if he were doing us a favour and got unreasonably annoyed when we tried to change the date again this year. He said these conditions were in the terms and conditions, but only changed them once the pandemic hit and never sent us an updated copy. We've complained to the relevant authorities and given up on the trip, since he won't help with our travel insurance claim. The communication and customer service were shocking. I'd strongly recommend avoiding the stress and staying elsewhere.

We had to cancel because of the Sydney lockdown, and I just got off the phone with owner Pomm, who refused a refund or fair credit. When I said we'd take it to the ACCC because the guidelines say he has to offer a fair and reasonable alternative, he said plenty of people had tried that and he had no intention of changing his mind. We would have accepted credit for next season. Instead, I plan to take him to the ACCC. The property was rebooked for part of the time we cancelled, but he still wouldn't offer a fair refund or credit, even though he'd been paid by another guest for those dates. I believe people who haven't received a refund after cancelling due to COVID lockdowns can start a claim with the ACCC. If that doesn't succeed, the reviewer says people who experienced personal hardship, such as lost income during COVID, can also claim hardship through the ACCC, which would review whether Pomm had good reason to refuse a refund. Don't spend your money here, even if every other place in Jindy is booked. Disgusting way to run a business.

We tried repeatedly to reschedule or get a partial refund because of the Covid situation. The response was hostile and completely lacking in empathy, and I was hung up on more than once. For a $6,000 stay, we got back $0 and no credit toward a future visit. I hope the owner shows more empathy in future dealings during such a difficult time. I'd give no stars if I could. Don't stay here.
