We booked and paid through Booking for a Deluxe apartment for five nights, expecting a mountain view and space for six. Instead, we got a very small, dark room with no window, facing the back of the hotel. At reception, the man kept saying he'd upgraded us and that we shouldn't complain. When we insisted on the room we had booked, he demanded another $400 AUD because the booking didn't include our children, aged nine months and five years. There were four of us in total. He saw me opening the Booking app to contact them, then said he'd accept $200 AUD. We paid and got the room we booked. The receptionist was rude and sneaky. Reception is open for only an hour in the daytime. Twice, all the towels were taken for cleaning and none were returned. A couple of times, they didn't empty the bin and left its liner on the floor for the guest to put in. I'm not coming back.

Matt, the hotel manager, made us feel welcome and looked after us so well. The rooms and service were great, and it's well placed for reaching the ski slopes while still close to everything Jindabyne offers. I've stayed in both winter and summer and love coming here.

Cam and Matt were so friendly and accommodating when we arrived, and even gave my partner and me a free upgrade. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed for the next two days. They also had a secure place for our camper trailer. It's been awesome!

The toilet in our room clearly hadn't been cleaned, which I found unacceptable. Otherwise, we would have had a nice experience. We would have told the receptionist, but nobody was at reception when we checked out.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the location in town was perfect. The kitchen and bathroom were nice, but the room felt tired and needs upgrades. The spare doona had huge blood stains, which was pretty gross. The heater had no legs and was propped against the wall, one touch away from falling over. The bed was on blocks of wood, and the TV wall unit seemed to have a mind of its own. The room needs some money put back into it.
