The accommodation itself was doable, but the rules and the way they were handled left me extremely disappointed. Check-in wasn’t available until 4pm, with no flexibility, and check-out was an unreasonably early 9am. Guests also had to wash dishes and take out rubbish before leaving, though finding the bins was difficult. None of this was disclosed on Booking.com, and failing to comply could mean a $200 per hour cleaning fee. The kitchen only had basic appliances, so dishes had to be washed in the bathroom sink or a bucket. There were no clear directions for accessing the upstairs unit, which caused needless confusion, especially since the split-level layout seems to surprise many guests based on other reviews. The most concerning part came after I raised my dissatisfaction. I was told by text that leaving a negative review would get me banned from booking any of their properties in the future. That felt coercive and completely unacceptable. I can’t recommend the property given the inconvenient strict rules, requirements that weren’t disclosed, and that threatening behavior.

For a house sleeping eight, having just one toilet was extremely inconvenient, and the place didn’t suit a ski trip. There was no laundry room or spot to dry snow gear and gloves. We paid $4200 for three nights, which felt like very poor value. The house was split into two separate rentals, with poor sound insulation between upstairs and downstairs, and the upstairs footsteps kept us awake. The host was very unfriendly. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’ve been coming to Jindabyne yearly for snowboarding and had never written a bad review before this stay. I’m posting this to warn future guests: if you don’t want your holiday ruined or your money wasted, don’t book this guesthouse. The host was extremely unwelcoming and kept sending legal information during the stay, rather than beforehand, which was annoying. The photos showed a beautiful spa/jacuzzi, but we didn’t realize the house was split into two. Eight people had to share one bathroom, which was very inconvenient, and there was no laundry for our three days. The listed grill/BBQ didn’t fit the LPG tank, and gas leaked when we tried it, which seemed dangerous and a fire hazard. The host also wasn’t helpful or responsive about returning our 500aud deposit. She didn’t say she wouldn’t return it, and gave us no information by text or email. I called and texted without getting an answer. We learned the hard way that we should have read reviews before booking. I checked afterward and saw many bad reviews, and I think they’re all right.

You could hear the guests upstairs, and eight people had to share one bathroom. There was no laundry or dryer to use on a snow trip, which was ridiculous. The host was rude and arrogant as soon as we arrived. The BBQ grill didn’t work: the gas bottle wasn’t compatible and leaked when switched on, which was clearly a fire hazard. They also didn’t return my bond, and I couldn’t get through by phone or get any response to my messages. Don’t ruin your holiday, stay away.
