The kids enjoyed our stay, though next time we’ll look for somewhere a bit bigger. Our Kirwan Apartments unit had two double rooms and two rooms for three people, so it could sleep ten. The living and dining areas were cramped but usable, and there was one small shower, a small toilet, and a larger combined toilet, shower and laundry. It smelled clean when we arrived, which was a plus. Then we found defrosted mouldy chicken schnitzels in the microwave, food and rubbish behind the lounge, chewing gum on the floor, and a stove door that wouldn’t shut, among a few other issues. We emailed the defects to the property manager at Raine & Horne on Saturday night. She sent the cleaners back on Sunday while we were skiing, and the stove door was fixed Monday. Their quick response made the rest of the stay enjoyable. We had undercover parking for one car; our second car had to use the open lot, where an old Ford ute seemed to have occupied its designated spot, #49, for months. We parked in someone else’s space.

At first I walked in and thought, what a dump. After a few days, though, I actually came to like the place. It’s a long way from the action in town and feels very expensive for what you get. I guess that’s the COVID situation, and the place looked pretty full, so you can’t blame them.

My daughter has a unit here, and it’s absolutely gorgeous whatever time of year you visit.

The place we stayed in had heaps of space, but the parking was haphazard. We struggled to find our spot, and the parking setup really wasn’t up to the mark.
