Kookaburra Ski Lodge

From the call to book right through to saying goodbye, the owners made sure we were looked after. They even put our beers in the fridge and took us to the sports bar, nothing seemed like a problem. The complimentary breakfast was great too. Guys, we’ll definitely be back. Keep up the good work ❤️🏍️🏍️🏍️🍺

After a long hike in Kosciuszko National Park, it was so handy being able to air our tents and hiking gear in the drying rooms. The lodge also has drying rooms for winter sports. Kookaburra Lodge was our stop on both sides of the trip, and we’d make it our first choice if we’re back in these parts. The rooms are basic but clean, with very comfortable beds, and the shared facilities are great. Bathrooms are modern and clean, with plenty of hot water. There’s lots of nice outdoor seating for eating and socialising, plus a large BBQ and a kitchen in the lounge. The lounge’s retro theme gives it a friendly feel. It has a fireplace, and there’s a firepit outside, both of which I’m sure would be great in winter. The service was welcoming, friendly and accommodating.

The place was packed when I turned up in a panic at 5pm, but Brenda (I think that was her name) found me one of her last rooms at a reasonable price. She was extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was a little small, but clean and tidy, and I slept wonderfully. I’d thoroughly recommend Kookaburra Lodge to anyone.

We stopped here on the way down for our recent biannual trip to Phillip Island for the MotoGP. The team were all happy with the stay. Rooms are a little small and worn, but the service was nice, breakfast was included, and we got a free beer on arrival. It clearly caters to quite a few bikers. Sunrise was nice, and most places for drinks and dinner are an easy walk. It would be good if they improved the way they handle receipts and tax invoices, since some people need them.
