Kalbarri Palm Resort

We had a very good stay in a family room at Kalbarri Palm Resort. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room was spacious, tidy and well cared for. It had the kitchen essentials we needed, including a microwave, utensils and an oven, which made things convenient. Everything felt clean and comfortable for a family. The one concern was the Wi-Fi, which could be better for such a large property. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Simple, nice and affordable. The pool and BBQs were really clean, cleaner than we could get them afterward, though luckily nobody minded. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The kangaroos were very relaxed.

The location is good, but the room was in the worst condition I've ever experienced. Don't trust the photos. The covers on all three single beds had rat droppings and urine on them, and the whole room smelled terrible. We told the office what we'd found and immediately cancelled our three nights, then booked another resort. Thank goodness it was low season. They explained that rats are common in Kabarri and there was nothing they could do. I walked away after that, but if you're thinking of booking Kabarri Palm Resort, read this and decide for yourself. I wish I could upload photos of the rat and mouse droppings.

I was in a serious accident with a kangaroo and couldn't travel, even though I had booked 3 rooms for my holiday. I contacted the hotel to ask for a refund or to move the dates, but they said they wouldn't refund me or let me change them. I found that very disappointing and inflexible given the emergency. It felt unfair to have no way to recover the cost or reschedule after something so unexpected. I hope management will reconsider and show more understanding to guests facing genuine emergencies. Customer care should matter.
