The resort was so quiet during our stay, probably because school holidays had just finished. We had a one-bedroom Ocean View Studio, which was spacious and nicely set up with everything for cooking and doing laundry. The sea view was pretty minimal, but looking over the gardens toward the water was lovely. We used it as a base for day trips to Byron and Mullumbimby, and there are several places to eat in the Village next door. There’s no restaurant on site, though the Peppers breakfast spot is very close. We’d happily come back.

The bed linen was lovely, the room was clean, the air conditioning worked well and parking was easy. The room itself felt very cramped, with nowhere for luggage and hardly any furniture, so my husband brought in the patio table and chairs. The tea and coffee setup and tiny fridge were tucked under the TV cabinet, leaving no space to prepare even a small breakfast. One chilly night, we had only a heavy bedspread and no light blanket. The bathroom cabinet had water damage. Room 5318 or 5319 really needs an update: a wall-mounted TV and a built-in cabinet with a bench along the alcove would make better use of the space. It also seemed expensive for what we got. I don’t understand why you have to go outside to reach the restaurants.

We paid nearly $1800 for three days and were very disappointed. We’d booked two rooms for three nights, and had to change one of them three times because of problems. The air conditioning didn’t work in the first room, and none of the bathroom lights worked. It also smelled of vomit. In the next room, the air conditioner leaked so badly it poured like a tap and soaked the bed, pillows and bedding. The next room has been okay so far. In the other room, the only issue was that the remote had no batteries. Doesn’t anyone use a checklist to make sure the equipment and facilities work?

We were here for a long weekend to celebrate our brother’s birthday. The room was great, and the staff were professional and really helpful. The location is amazing. Don’t miss happy hour. 🍸🍹🥂

This place has the bones to be a really excellent resort, but it needs better upkeep. The carpet is old and dirty, there are cracked tiles and even bits of tile left lying around, and the walls have stains and marks. As it is, it’s a good resort, but it could be so much better.
