For $340 a night, this was a joke. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The executive room was overpriced, with stained sheets and filthy curtains. The shower barely put out any water because the head was blocked, and there was glass on the balcony from a panel that had obviously broken before. At dinner, two female restaurant staff were rude and more focused on arguing with each other. The man at reception wasn’t very friendly when we arrived.

We loved the restaurant’s contemporary Australian food and specials, especially the slow cooked beef ribs and spicy coconut pork curry. The rooms had great views and the location was excellent. Around sunset, we saw penguins near Kingscote Wharf. We’ll definitely stay again.

My breakfast on January 15 was really disappointing. I asked the waitress in pink about the missing hash browns, and she said, “It’s being made, you need to be patient.” Food can take time, of course, but the dismissive, rude tone ruined my appetite and mood. Basic politeness costs nothing, and that attitude isn’t acceptable in hospitality.

The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean with a great sized bathroom. I was so happy with my stay and can’t wait to return. They had my requested assistance in place before I arrived. Dinner in the main restaurant was good, and I enjoyed the wine list, which introduced me to new wineries.

My family dinner at the Ozone Hotel Kangaroo Island was ruined, and we won’t be back or recommend it. The food was bland and poor quality, with unimpressive portions that weren’t worth the price. Staff were rude, dismissive, and abrupt from the moment we arrived, making us feel unwelcome. It seemed the restaurant was trading on its location instead of offering good food or service.
