We spent three nights in the pods and loved the privacy, with the city still close by. From ours, we could see Kingston, the river and the ocean. It made a beautiful start to our Tasmania trip, and would suit a couple wanting a romantic weekend or someone stopping as part of a longer visit.

We could sit and watch wildlife grazing, including some very cute, shy joeys, and the views were spectacular. The owner welcomed us warmly and had put the heaters on before we arrived. Everything was clean and tidy, and the caramel slice was delicious. A wonderful break from the busy world, we’ll definitely return.

Birds, bunnies, pademelons and hens were all wandering around, and meeting the owner’s goats was a lovely bonus. I really appreciated the eco-friendly touches too. The compost toilet was well maintained and had no smell. The owner left us delicious caramel slice when we arrived. I loved the Vanilla Pod, it was a beautiful, healing stay.

The view from our room over the River Derwent near the ocean was a highlight, especially with the full moon reflecting on the water. I had such a wonderful one-night stay a month ago that I tried to book an extra night, even though it would have disrupted my Tasmania road trip, but it was fully booked. The owner was kind and welcoming, making sure we had what we needed. She clearly loves sharing the property's views and Tasmania, and her gardening has created lovely grounds and a habitat for cute wild animals. The property was impeccably clean and felt almost self-sustaining. I also learned about the composting toilet system for the first time. It was a wonderful, unforgettable experience.

The open bushland setting was gorgeous, and the accommodation was absolutely lovely. Tanya was friendly and professional when we arrived, and it was just the little getaway we needed. The location is fantastic, not far from Hobart. A fly screen on one of the doors would help keep flies out when the door is open for ventilation. We’ll definitely be back and recommend it to everyone.
