Lake Hume Resort

The resort felt tucked away and secluded, which made for a lovely winter getaway. Our cabin was comfortable, well equipped, very clean, and nicely presented. We also had a family dinner in the resort kitchen, the menu was extensive and it was very kid friendly. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it.

We found the cabins comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced, and they had everything we needed. The gardens are kept really well. The Lake is within walking distance, with a boat ramp and plenty of ways to enjoy the water. There’s also a beautiful luxury pool for the kids. So far it’s been a lovely time here with family and friends.

We booked because of the pool, mini golf and basketball court shown in the photos and descriptions, and the facilities were a real letdown. The pool looked great but was unheated and freezing, so it was completely unusable for us. Our young kids ended up daring each other to get in and see who could last longest, which was funny to watch, but not the holiday we’d hoped to give them. The spa net was there to skim ice, apparently, rather than leaves. The mini golf needed clearing and cleaning before it could be used, and the basketball court needed a leaf blower, broom and shovel. The hoops were in such a state we won't even get into it. The cabin, garden, deck view and mowed grass were all lovely, but I have a garden, deck and grass at home. I booked for the facilities, and felt gutted that I'd promised my daughters more based on what was shown. We left feeling robbed of the experience we were sold. The facilities were over advertised on the booking site and Google. This was Easter 2026.

We left at around 5.00 am after a horrible night, unable to sleep because the AC/heater kept rattling. I called and messaged management asking them to fix it or move us to another room. There were many empty rooms, but they ignored us. The carpet and blankets were dirty, with yellow stains on the blankets, the towels smelled, and there were flies in the bathroom. It was the worst night stay I've had at any hotel in Australia. It felt like management didn't care whether guests were comfortable. What is the point of staying overnight if you can't sleep? They take your money, leave you with keys in a box, and then the rest is in God's hands. It felt like Russian roulette. Please don't go there.
