The next day, there was poo in the pool. Another guest told a team member, but it took over 20 minutes for anyone to attend, while guests kept getting in and out. We had to flag the issue too, along with another guest, to get people out. They could have put up a warning sign in two minutes. When I mentioned it at checkout, I got more attitude and was told I had the timing wrong. As I left, the manager kept up the unprofessional attitude, said we were the problem, and taunted me to enjoy writing a bad Google review. We checked out two nights early. We travel around Australia for work and stay in hotels fortnightly, and we've never had customer service this poor. The staff were rude and confrontational, including the shift manager. It felt like the bad service came from the top down. It started when my husband politely asked reception for another pillow for me because the ones there were terribly uncomfortable and hard. She said, “So u expect 5 pillows? They are all the same. You could have brought your own pillow if you’re that fussy. You’re only a time share member.” It wasn't just the rude words, but the tone and overall vibe. My husband then said she shouldn't be dealing with customers, and asked if she'd had a bad day. I raised her attitude with management and got the same treatment. I ended up buying a $16 Kmart pillow, which was significantly better.
I was made to feel like an inconvenience whenever I had a question or request, and found the reception staff quite rude. Businesses are having a hard time these days, so people should take pride in their work and go above and beyond with customer service. I know the customer isn't always right, but some of the front-of-house team seem to have a poor culture that clearly comes down from management.
The resort was clean and tidy, with good-sized, comfortable, well-maintained rooms and all the amenities. The daily happy hour has good deals, and shops and cafes are about a 10 to 15 minute walk away. The indoor heated pool and spa area are showing their age. The only real issue was that the hot water ran out in the evenings.
The one-bedroom place is a nice size for three people. Having a full kitchen and laundry is excellent on a road trip.
The suite was super clean and in great condition, with a great location, parking, pools and a bar.
