Lucas Hotel

My husband really liked his steak sandwich and said it was great. I had the scotch fillet, cooked exactly as I ordered, and it was absolutely delicious. We eat out quite often, and it was the best one I’ve had in a very long time.

Bells parade and the axemens hall of fame are still a magical spot, with shady trees, a bridge, and picnic tables in big log cabin-style shelters. I remember those shelters from the 90's. I do wish they still rented out the trikes for riding on the water, though. They were fun. Walking around the town shops still gives you that country hometown feeling, and Lucas's hotel is worth a stop for a drink or a meal. I had a Canadian club & coke there today on a hot day, and it was refreshing. The staff were good, and I bought a lucus hotel blue cap too. I had many good times here in the early 90's, when I lived on Dooley's Hill for a few years. I hadn’t been back for almost 30 years, but finally got to visit what’s probably my favourite town in tassy. One day I’ll return permanently.

We came for lunch with 11 family members, including two celebrating birthdays who ate for free. All 11 dishes were really good, and the service was fantastic. I’ve visited a few times recently and haven’t had a bad dish yet. There’s plenty of space too, so you’re not squeezed in beside everyone. I’ll be back. Thanks for a great experience.

The food was amazing at our Christmas work function at Lucas Hotel, but the service and staff attitude were terrible. We ordered everyone’s meals together, yet one person’s food arrived eight minutes after everyone else’s. Later, we had to ask a staff member to take our dessert order, and one person waited another ten minutes after the others got theirs, even though it was the same dessert as two other people at the table. The staff need more training and an attitude that shows they want to be there. I’d like to come back, but I won’t unless the service improves.
