We booked for 15 at 5:30pm on a quiet Sunday, 6 October, and still waited nearly an hour and a half for food. One person was left waiting two hours for a schnitzel, despite several requests for an update. We were told the delay was because other large tables needed serving, but we were the biggest group and had ordered before some of the other tables. Of the 10 adult meals, five were refunded because they were inedible. The rest weren't up to standard either: the crumbed scallops were burnt, and the seafood basket was watery. That meal led to 24 hours of gastro. I also emailed management and haven't even had a reply. We'd been locals here for years, then moved on after a few years of average service. We gave it another chance, but won't be back.

That view is beautiful, and the food was amazing too. The staff were friendly and easy to chat with, and the service was fantastic. A lovely spot for lunch or dinner. I'd definitely recommend it for a meal out.

We'd just moved from NSW to Old Beach and tried to book at Risdon Brook and another place first. At 7pm there were only three or four other tables and about five people in the bar, but the welcome at the restaurant bar was rude. A staff member told us they wouldn't serve us there and that we had to walk four metres over to her. The food was just as disappointing. The brisket burger was stone cold, as if the brisket had been cooked the day before and not reheated. The two Guinness pies came in tiny ramekins with no hint of Guinness, alongside a pile of mushy, overcooked frozen vegetables. The medium-well steak tasted as if it had been cooked the week before, was overdone, and seemed poor quality. With a prime location and such spectacular views, we expected much better. We won't eat there again.

Got two mushroom gravies and a chicken schnitzel with chips through Uber Eats. One gravy was missing, and the one that arrived was only half full and watery, with no mushroom taste or much flavor at all. The schnitzel was okay but a bit dry. The chips were soggy, barely cooked, and had no crunch. A waste of money. Honestly awful.
