I was nervous after reading the reviews, but my New Year’s Eve stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The room cooled down quickly with the excellent aircon, and the shower had strong pressure and got hot fast. The King bed was two singles pushed together, but they barely shifted and were really comfortable, with plenty of big pillows. No bugs, and the bar fridge kept our drinks cold in the summer heat. The blackout curtains worked incredibly well, though there wasn’t a second set to let daylight in. Since the windows and doors were clear, opening them up to the light meant losing privacy. The lamps made the room cosy, and the kettle was very quiet. There wasn’t a microwave, but the smart TV was easy to use without plugging in a casting device. Daily room cleaning was available if requested, so we weren’t disturbed unless we asked. We could also switch off the bright driveway and parking light. Woolworths is right across the road, with lots of good cafes nearby for morning coffee. The rooms were expensive over New Year, but I’d stay again if I didn’t need a kitchen.

The park across the road has a sublime view, which lifted my tired mood when I looked out the window on arrival. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly even though we arrived early. The place was clean and efficient, and close to all the relaxed things Lismore has to offer. We did spot one or two bugs, sorry.

I wouldn’t give this place a star. The room was a dive for what they charged, and the other reviews are right. When I asked the customer service woman where my room was, she was extremely rude and told me to find it myself. Then she hung up so she wouldn’t have to deal with me. You’d probably be better off sleeping in your car.

After driving nine hours from Sydney to Lismore, I arrived exhausted and was told they weren’t sure where my room was, so I should find it myself. That was a very disappointing lack of basic service. The room also had no microwave, making it hard to heat food, and the facility felt poorly maintained and unfriendly to guests. For the price, I expected at least a reasonable level of hospitality. The service fell far short, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming stay.
