Jetty Motel, The Entrance

The pool is lovely, and the manager and staff were friendly and attentive. The motel is in a perfect spot for quick trips around the coast, close to just about everything. Handy if you like The Entrance beach and rockpool area.

I liked the spacious, very clean room and its design. The shower was warm and roomy, and the bed was comfortable. I was given a warm welcome too. There’s a nice Indian restaurant and Diggers close by. Great place to stay.

The room felt cosy, with its wood-panelled ceiling and beams, and some updated touches that suit the older style. It was spacious, with a comfortable bed and an awesome shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a great stay recently and would 100% recommend.

The biggest issue was the lack of service, and I wouldn't return. I expected at least a partial refund because what we paid wasn't close to worth what we received. Management were rude and unhelpful, and I was very disappointed. My mum relies on a four-wheeled walker, and I had asked before booking whether there was a room suitable for an elderly person with mobility issues. I was clearly reassured that ours would work for her. In reality, the shower wasn't accessible, and the walker couldn't fit through the bathroom door because swollen, rotting timber at the bottom stopped it opening fully. The exhaust fan didn't work, and mould on the ceiling made it clear it had been broken for a while. The towel rail was broken, so her bath towel kept falling off. The vanity's hot tap also didn't work when she needed to wash, since she couldn't use the shower. I was told there was only one pipe for both sides and they usually tell guests to let the hot water run for five minutes. The guest kitchen was meant to be open by the posted time, but the door was locked when I went to get a bowl and spoon for Mum's breakfast and morning meditation. I had to wait until about 8.40am, and we needed to check out by 10am. They charge extra for a late checkout without prior arrangement, but barely apologised for opening the kitchen 40 minutes late. The response was that on Sundays it opens later, at 8.30am, so the signage should be updated. We were allowed to check in early, but weren't offered a late checkout. I've learned to get the agreed accommodation needs in writing before booking and paying, and to photograph any damage or broken items on arrival and show management straight away. To clarify, I did not wait two days after checkout to post this. We checked out at 10am yesterday morning, and I wrote the review that same night. Management's claim that I waited two days was a blatant lie.
