Kangaroos, farm animals, birds and all that fresh air made it feel like a proper country escape. We had a peaceful, comfortable two-night stay at the Lodge in Ironstone Estate. The house was huge and had everything we needed, and the location and facilities were spot on.

Luke and Georgia made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were warm, thoughtful hosts who clearly cared about how our group was getting on, and the service was amazing. The location worked perfectly for our event: near everything we needed, but still quiet and private enough to relax and enjoy ourselves. Every little detail was taken care of, and we felt at home throughout. We’re already keen to come back.

We had a great chance to unwind here, and we’ll be back with our work team as well as family and friends. It’s a comfortable place for a planning getaway or a break with a group, with a pool, lake and fireplace. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, and it’s close to everything.

We had 10 adults, 10 kids and two dogs between the Lodge and Homestead, and there was still plenty of room. The houses are fairly close together, and the kids especially loved the hot tub. We’ve already booked for the same time next year. Really, we couldn’t fault it.

The vineyard, the dam with ducks and all the lovely spots for photos made this a great place for a family break or a long weekend with friends. The Lodge at Ironstone Estate in Lovedale is both spacious and cosy, with a pizza oven, pool and fireplace. It’s in a great location, and we had a lovely stay. Good wine is a bonus, of course.
