Grande Escape Resort

The reception staff were absolutely nice. When the air conditioner in our first room leaked, they moved my son and me to a larger room with a lovely spacious bathroom. But before showering, I noticed the shower hadn’t been cleaned properly, with hair, shaving and sand around the silicone. There was also a bit of mould along the bathroom floor, which was sandy. The restaurant was a big letdown. My parmi wasn’t hot and steamy like I’d expect at a proper restaurant. The chips and my son’s nuggets seemed only oven-baked, and I’d expected nice potato wedges. The salad looked bought and thrown together. I wouldn’t stay here again, it didn’t meet my standards.

It’s good value for money in expensive MR, and the location is quiet, though about 1.5km from the centre of Margret River. That’s a little far to walk into town. The room was a good size but felt tired and could use a refresh, which would probably raise the price. Our room opened onto an internal corridor as well as directly outside. Both doors needed a key to open, but I think many travellers would prefer a chain on the doors and more visible security.

We stayed in a two-bedroom unit for a long weekend. The beds were comfortable and clean, and check-in was easy. The staff were lovely, and the pool and outdoor areas were tidy and pleasant to spend time in. The lounge area was alright but could be brighter. There was a massive rubbish tip just outside, which wasn’t great to look at, though not the end of the world. It’s an easy walk to a nice restaurant and pub, and a short drive to the town centre. Great stay, and we’d definitely come back.

Nice, clean rooms with comfortable beds, and great customer service. The shower was a little small. There’s plenty of parking, plus a little play area and pool for kids. The hotel has an onsite cafe and bar/bistro, and it’s within walking distance of the main streets and a good walk down to the river walking track.
