Aqua Vista Resort

The pool and BBQ space made it easy to unwind, and we really appreciated being allowed to check in early. Our apartment was spotless with beautiful views, and Rob and the whole team were lovely throughout our stay at Aqua Vista Resort in Maroochydore. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return. Highly recommend it.

The ocean views from the balcony were great. The apartment was comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the heated pool and spa were lovely. Handy spot too, close to shops and restaurants.

The location at Aquavista worked well for getting around on foot, and the balcony still had a nice outlook. But our stay was frustrating from the booking change onward, and we left feeling we should be refunded part of the cost for being given a two-bedroom apartment after booking three bedrooms. We’d visit Maroochydore again, just not stay here, and we won’t book through them again. We had first booked a three-bedroom at their other property, Reflections Maroochydore. We explained by phone that we couldn’t manage several flights of stairs, and chose a first-floor unit after being told there was no elevator. Shortly before arrival, we called with a question and learned the owners wanted that unit, so we’d been moved to a higher level without being asked. If we hadn’t called, we might have arrived unable to stay there. The on-site manager called about our complaint, spoke over me, and asked rudely, “do you need to stay here” and “why are you staying here.” They offered Aquavista instead, repeatedly describing it as much better and a big upgrade, with no extra charge for the switch. At check-in, we arrived about 20 minutes before the latest 2pm time. The man at the desk said the room wasn’t ready and we’d have to wait until 3pm. He kept suggesting we go for a walk or drive, but we’d just arrived and didn’t want to drive around because of their mistake. We said we’d come back at 2pm. Then reception was closed and no one was there. A woman answered the number on the desk and told us the room had been ready for a while and we could have gone in earlier. We were livid and didn’t want to stay by then. The replacement was a two-bedroom with two double beds, which we were told were a king and a queen. We needed the three bedrooms and beds we’d booked, so this was a downgrade, not an upgrade. They left a fold-out bed in the doorway, not set up and without a pillow or blankets. They told us to put it in the “study,” but that was just a table and chair in a corner, in the hallway, with no space for a bed. We had to rearrange a room to fit it, leaving barely any room to walk. The apartment was bland and dusty, with mould in the showers and bathrooms. A large cobweb and spider by a bedroom window suggested the area behind the curtains hadn’t been checked or cleaned. We killed it and didn’t want to sleep in that room. The cutlery was grubby, with no drying rack or room for food. Showers had almost no water pressure, Wi-Fi didn’t work, crumbs were on and around the dining table, and the TV remote was flat. We had to charge it with our own phone chargers, and there were no streaming services. The second-floor view wasn’t much, though the balcony was nice.

The 11th-floor outlook was spectacular, with a 180-degree sweep across the ocean, inlet and distant mountains. We were on vacation from the US with friends from Brisbane and had a lovely two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, including a full kitchen, living room and dining room. It also had a washer and dryer, dishwasher and all the amenities we could ask for. We had a really perfect time.
