I chose this hotel because parking was available, but honestly I'd rather stay at the Grand Hyatt, less than 100m away. The room was in horrible condition: old carpet, torn binds, and a bathroom straight out of the 80s. The TV was small and didn't support streaming or Netflix. The apartment was huge for two people, but the walkway was eerie at night with minimal lighting, like a haunted hotel.

The apartment was well equipped for a short stay, with a comfy bed and everything needed in the kitchen. Great location, within easy walking distance of public transport, shops, and restaurants. Serina at reception was very helpful, and out-of-hours check-in was easy. I especially appreciated the car park map for finding the space.

The location made our stay easy, with the promenade nearby for a different restaurant each day, a corner shop close by, Woolies within walking distance, and a free tram into Melb CBD. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment was on the 9th Floor, with lovely views over the Marina and city lights. Serena welcomed us even though we arrived late, arranged twin beds in the second bedroom when we booked, and was happy to help with questions. The place was spacious and clean, with air conditioning, though the fresh balcony breeze meant we barely needed it. We loved staying at Akom at Docklands and would happily recommend it.

The reception staff were rude and unwelcoming, and the building clearly needs renovation. Inside, the apartment was very dirty: yellow marks on the sheets, stains throughout, large brown patches on the carpets, and hair in the shower. There was mould in the bathrooms too, and the door wouldn't lock properly. I won't stay here again, and would tell anyone considering it to look for another apartment.
