Apartments @ 23 Lonsdale

The apartment had plenty of space, a balcony, kitchen, dining table, separate bathroom and a very comfortable bed. But during our five-day stay, the poor cleanliness became hard to ignore. Before we had even unpacked, the bedroom carpet had crumbs, hair and dirt on it. The washing machine held a big clump of hair, and there was more hair in the shower. The floors looked as if they hadn't been mopped in months, and seeing traces of previous guests put us off. We also found that someone had already used the shampoo. The pots and pans were dirty, there was a bug in them, the stove was dirty and the fridge leaked. My fiancée runs a cleaning business and was sympathetic, saying mistakes happen, so we tried to overlook things. We wiped down the shower and picked up the larger bits of dirt ourselves. Still, staying somewhere this unclean felt awful, and I wouldn't choose to come back.
