Apple House

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I was the only person in the house, fell asleep on the couch, then got woken at 2 am by the cleaner telling me I couldn’t sleep there. The cleaner also lets himself in and out whenever it suits him, even when there’s nothing to clean or no rooms to make up.

Never go there. The rooms aren’t clean, and they don’t refund you if you pay them.

A great place to rest your head, close to amenities, transport and shopping centres. The service is on par with a five-star motel for a fraction of the price. The rooms and amenities were the cleanest I’ve come across at any motel, and the beds were clean and comfortable. You can come and go as you please, with 24-hour access to the outside smoking area and front entrance. This will always be my first choice when I visit Melbourne. Highly recommended. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

The towels and sheets smelled so bad it was hard to sleep. There were stains and dust on the towels, and we wondered if they’d really been washed. During check-in, we waited about an hour outside the door for him to send the access code. He didn’t answer his phone, and communication was difficult. The owner asked us to help clean, even though cleaning was included in the rental price. At checkout he charged us $49 for being an hour late and accused us of stealing a bottle of Fanta. It’s also far from everything, with no public transport. I don’t see why I’d return. Thanks, but never again!
