Aquila Nova Retreat

A lovely spot for a romantic escape. The cabin is spacious and gorgeous, set in a beautiful forest, with lots of thoughtful touches: full breakfast, spa bath, wine, port for after dinner and robes. The styling is quaint and meticulous, and we could bring our dog too.

We stayed here the weekend we got engaged, and the hosts made the room extra special with rose petals, chocolate strawberries and champagne. It was perfect for such an important weekend away, and they were so friendly. The room was gorgeous, with a fireplace and spa bath. There was freshly baked bread, still warm, complimentary wine and breakfast ingredients, all in a beautiful location. We’ve stayed at a few places before, but this was the best by far. Would 100% recommend to everyone.

It’s expensive, but worth every cent. The little touches were incredible, from choc ices in the freezer to swan-shaped towels on the bed, rose petals in the spa bath that was already run, champagne on ice, wines in the bar fridge and a decanter of port. There was also an incredible breakfast selection. The drawbridge at the entrance is a must-see, as are the castellated stone walls on the veranda. Communication with Alex was simple and helpful. We’ll be back!

Our puppy was made extremely welcome and loved exploring the gardens, so it was a bonus that the property is dog friendly. We stayed in the Luna suite at Aquila Nova for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday, and we’ll definitely return. Arina greeted us on arrival and showed us to the suite. She was an excellent host and made the stay memorable. The property has a huge, lush garden with several levels, which made things very tranquil. The room was large, the bed comfy, and there was a spa plus plenty of amenities. Fresh bread, juice and wine were provided. We highly recommend a stay at Aquila Nova. You won’t regret it. Thanks so much, Arina and Alex, for the amazing getaway!
