Beaconsfield Lodge Motel

I was booked for more than a week but lasted one night at Beaconsfield Lodge Motel. The room was awful, with a broken bed and dirty bathroom. I tripped on the step up to the toilet because I didn't notice it against the same-coloured tiles, and hurt my foot. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned: the toaster was dirty, and I didn't feel comfortable making a cuppa. The laundry was in a rundown shed. At checkout, the manager tried to move me to another room, but I felt unsafe and refused. I showed him a photo of the broken bed, and he said the last occupant must have broken it. If so, why wasn't it noticed while the room was being prepared? I did get a refund for four nights, though I thought it should have been more and didn't want to argue. I just wanted to leave. You expect a room to be clean, whatever you pay. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The owner wouldn't listen or look at the photos when I tried to talk to him, call him and email him. The rooms were filthy: cobwebs and spiders, poo marks on the walls, dirty cutlery and sheets, and a horrible smell. The shower looked extremely dirty, like it hadn't been cleaned, and the TV didn't work. The list goes on. Never stay here!! 0/10 🤢

I spent a couple of nights here, and each night I could hear the neighbours loudly going at it. It was awful. My 7-year-old heard it too and went looking for the noise. Their door was wide open, and my poor son saw that. I'm NEVER coming back.

The location was good, with a park across the road, and I think the motel has potential. But it needs a lot of work. Our family room was dirty, especially under the bed, where someone else's vape was still left behind, and the sheets had huge stains. There was no toaster or microwave either.
