Lisa was a wonderful host during the last two days of our honeymoon. She gave us privacy but was there whenever we needed anything. When I mentioned we were thinking of walking to St Andrews Brewery, she even drove us there and back. My wife and I couldn’t be happier with our relaxed, romantic weekend, and would highly recommend this place for a private getaway. We can’t wait to return for our anniversary.

Three years ago, we spent two nights in the dune hideaway for our honeymoon, and it was a dream. The setting is peaceful and feels secluded, with a lovely beach a short walk away for a daytime picnic. We loved the delicious food, outdoor spa, and breakfast and lunch hamper. Such a romantic stay. This will be our go to anniversary getaway, and I’d highly recommend it to honeymooners.

I surprised my wife with a stay at Big Blue Backyard for her 30th birthday, and we had a wonderful time in the Beach accommodation. Lisa made us feel welcome, and the room was warm, comfortable, secluded and beautifully presented, with lots of attention to detail. We really enjoyed the dinner there on our first night and the delicious cooked breakfast each morning. We’d thoroughly recommend BBB.

The food was plentiful and divine, and dinner at the property is a must. The owners clearly care about giving guests a great stay. Our beach cottage had a lot of creative charm, with details like driftwood and shells worked into the design, and it was luxuriously fitted out. Tucked into the ti-tree, it was quiet and private, with only birds and distant surf to hear. One of the best places my husband and I have stayed.

The food was hands down the best we’ve ever had, and the meals were tailored perfectly to our dietary needs. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Big Blue Backyard last month, and loved the relaxed, friendly and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. There’s also a beautiful, adventurous walk down to the beach. A great escape from the city for a night or longer.
