Camberwell Serviced Apartment Hotel

Five stars. My partner was going through her luteal phase, and I stayed in my room without moving for all four nights. Achieved nirvana.

The location is good, but I still haven't received the invoice I was told would be sent when I left. I've requested it three times by phone and email. The man at the front desk got more and more impatient, which made an already confusing situation worse. I was only trying to get the invoice that never arrived.

We spent a week in a one-bedroom apartment. The style reminded me of Meriton in sydney, and the price was very generous for the room size and location. There was plenty of equipment, and I liked how much storage each room had. The guest information binder was well organised and included QR codes linking to individual equipment manuals. Parking is available for $10 a night in the undercover garage. One bay has a wall plug for charging an electric vehicle if you bring a mobile charger. If you're driving, I'd reserve a space. Service was prompt and professional. Special thanks to Marcia, who manages weekend reception, for accommodating our changes to the stay. A couple of minor things were livable. There was a slight smell when the bathroom fan was on, perhaps because the negative pressure was pulling up grey water smells. The entryway had a strong curry or vomit smell that I couldn't clear by opening the windows or running the air con. There was no smell in the main seating or bedroom area, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The washer-dryer had its dryer cord unplugged, possibly by the previous guest. I could reach the back and plug it into the GPO, then noticed only one of the two GPOs in the wall plate worked. That may be why it had been unplugged.

A lovely self-contained apartment. I'd recommend it. If you need a carport, let the staff know when booking.
