Jessica Cottage has a very steep driveway, though it does have a garage. Inside, it’s a lovely cottage with spacious rooms, high ceilings, and lots of facilities: a coffee maker, which I really appreciated, fireplaces, walk-in robes, an ensuite on the top floor, a balcony, TV, Wi-Fi, and more. The main downside is access, with very steep stairs. Not bad for a 100-year house!

Ella's Cottage was peaceful and nicely decorated, with a lovely river view. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, and the spa bath was great. Belinda’s communication was clear and easy.

We slept so well, the bed was one of the best we've had on a getaway. Breakfast on the balcony each morning was lovely, with the Yarra River and mountains in view. The cottages were clean, and there were little extras in the room to enjoy or buy. We took home a Lemongrass candle. Thanks, Belinda, for such a great stay. It was just the quick break we needed.

The setting is stunning and the cottages are nice, but ours wasn't particularly clean, which was disappointing for the price. The owner's conduct made the stay much worse. Before we arrived, she repeatedly called and texted us, asking for contact details for every guest. Then she charged us $35 for lighting a candle in the “luxury” cottage, claiming it was a “mini bar item.” When one guest got out of bed, a curtain attached to the ceiling of the four poster bed came down. The ceiling showed several earlier plastering attempts, but the guest was charged $132. After we left, we found another charge of over $100 on our card. We hadn't been told about it or given permission for it. The owner said it was for “cleaning,” claiming the property hadn't been left in good condition, which wasn't true. She provided no details or evidence and refused to reverse the charge. We posted a review about this on Booking.com, and she removed it, which is illegal. We travelled to the Yarra Valley as a group, and this was the worst customer service I've come across. Book at your own peril, the host will take you for a ride.

We were six people in Jessica's cottage and all had a great stay. When we opened the door, our first reaction was, “wow, how amazing is this?” The place has a lovely rustic feel as it's 120 years old, while the facilities are very modern. There's everything we needed, from a coffee machine to Netflix. Belinda went out of her way to help us and make sure we were happy. Incredible cottages, and we're already keen to come back. Thanks, Belinda!
