Clayton Serviced Apartments

I stayed for a few months while my wife was attending the maternity ward for childbirth. The room service was weekly, which worked great, and the balcony had a good view. The room was quiet, kid-friendly, and the staff were attentive. The car park is secure, and there’s a large playground nearby, with Monash University and Monash Health a good distance away. The hotel should get more popular once the new station is built. A larger bed upgrade would be a hit. Thanks for a positive stay.

Parking was stressful too, since all the yellow spaces were taken and I had to leave my car on the street and hope it was okay. The whole stay felt uncomfortable and not relaxing. I expected a clean, comfortable room, but this place seemed neglected and unhygienic. There were dead insects in the bed, a fly and a mosquito, and a dead cockroach in the middle of the shower. Finding that in a bathroom where you’re meant to get clean was shocking and gross. The sheets and towels had visible stains and looked old and not properly washed, so I didn’t feel confident using them. There were stains on the walls and furniture too, and the carpet was especially filthy and dusty, as if it hadn’t been deep-cleaned in a very long time. The room looked dirty and poorly maintained from the moment I walked in.

Each apartment has a washing machine, dryer, kitchen, microwave and the other essentials, so it works well for short or long stays. The place is spacious, modern and fully equipped, with clean rooms and friendly service. Near Monash University, it’s a reliable, practical home away from home in Melbourne.

The staff were very good about providing extra towels, bin liners and washer detergent whenever I needed a top-up. Cleaning and sheet changes only happen for stays of a week or more, even though it’s a serviced apartment. The rooms were fairly clean, and mine was a one-bedroom apartment with the toilet not ensuite. Free onsite parking was another plus. The location is near Monash University, but works well only if you drive.
