The corner room we got was great, with a good amount of space and a nice walk-in shower. The coffee shop by the elevators was handy in the morning, and breakfast was good quality with plenty of options. At breakfast, staff sat us, a couple, close beside a family of six even though an entire section of tables to the left was empty. One of the family members threw up all over their table, and my wife helped clean it. Staff then asked if we wanted to move, but by then it was too late. They should use their soft skills and seat couples and families with more space between them. The TV felt a bit old, and there was no Chromecast. The beds were a little soft.

The beds were two singles pushed together, not one bed, so you had to sleep on one side and couldn't lie in the middle. I also had a few staff act like I wasn't staying there and refuse to help at the concierge or front desk. At 3am, unable to sleep, I asked whether it was safe to sit outside the hotel for some air. One staff member made me feel like a criminal, asking what room I was in and whose name the booking was under even as I showed my keycard and its holder. That's why I took off a star. Even so, I loved the pool and outdoor private garden, and had an epic time. There was so much to do right beside the room, and the hotel had cool Australian Open decorations and things everywhere while I was there. The food, cocktails, hotel and whole experience were amazing. Coffee at Margo’s and the barista coffee at Mesh were incredible, both highly recommended. A special thanks to the concierge guy with all the fancy pens. You were the vibe, man. You spoke to me and cheered me up when you could see I was unhappy, which was really kind. The bellman was lovely when I arrived too. Thanks for having me, Crown Promenade. I loved my stay and will be back, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to feel cared for.

The rooms are large and practical, and we found the stay comfortable and enjoyable for what we paid. The pool area was great, although the spa jets need repair because the tub wasn't hot, and the men's steam room was out of order. Getting around was convenient, with Melbourne city and trams to nearby suburbs close by, along with Crown Casino, restaurants, bars and the cinema. Service was uneven and sometimes slow. Housekeeping was disappointing at first, though it got better during our stay.

The location was great and staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciated getting into my room a bit early for an appointment, and the room looked good, with a big window and comfortable bed. I enjoyed using the pool and spa in the evenings. But there was dust and rubbish behind the bedside table when I moved it to plug in my charger, and a little mould behind the bathroom sink. The TV only had free-to-air channels, with no movies, YouTube or anything like that. I'd have expected more these days. The thing that really put me off was being charged nearly $5 for a tiny bottle of water that I used in the kettle. There was no other water available, and I wrongly thought it was included. Was I supposed to use tap water? No way would I drink that or make tea with it. Poor form, Crown. For what I paid, I expected much better.

It was Melbourne's hottest day, at 45 degrees, and spending time in the room felt great. I was there for one night for work. The room was spacious and very clean, with a really comfortable king bed and a nice city view facing Crown Towers.
