Melbourne Dandenong Central Apartment

The room was nice for the price, and the bed was really comfortable, so I had a good stay. I’d have given it 4 and a half stars if I could. The detergent on the sheets irritated my skin, which has never happened to me before. There was also a bit of a mess from cleaning supplies and a supermarket trolley in the hallway just outside the lift.

We booked a two-bedroom apartment for five nights, but the rooms didn’t match the photos. The couch was worn out and felt disgusting, and the carpet needed a good clean. The balcony was covered in bird poo, and the rooms definitely need upgrading. There was just one staff member doing both reception and room cleaning. She was very nice and helped with what we needed, but it took some time because she was on her own. The location was okay, though traffic noise is to be expected. Wouldn’t recommend.

Reception was closed when my husband arrived on Friday, and we had no lockbox code. No one answered our calls, despite repeated attempts, so he had to book another hotel at the last minute. It caused completely unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I didn’t stay at the hotel because my plans changed, so I called ahead to say my husband would take over the booking for one night. A staff member asked me to send his ID to their after-hours mobile number. I did, and they confirmed they’d received it, so I thought everything was arranged. Yet he was left outside with no access or support. What’s more disappointing is that nobody contacted me the next morning to explain. When I called, the staff member initially seemed to understand, then quickly sent me to the third-party booking website. I understand that disputes over third-party bookings may need to go through them, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of accountability or basic customer care. The hotel had prior communication and had acknowledged receiving my husband’s ID. The response was appalling and unprofessional. I’ve never experienced this kind of disregard from any hotel. The lack of integrity and responsibility was extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here based on this experience.

The hotel was nice and peaceful, and Emma was an amazing, really helpful host. Restaurants are nearby, and I especially enjoyed eating at Afghan Mums. The train station and bus stop are close, too. I highly recommend Dandenong Central Apartments. Thankyou Emma for my stay.
