Flinders Landing Apartments

The apartments were much larger than I expected, and the bedding, bathroom, and kitchen had been given a basic clean for the next guest. Still, the place needed a proper spring clean, with dirty light switches and handprints on the walls. The location itself is perfect, but there’s no disabled access, and the website doesn’t mention that. I got caught out, and since the booking was non-refundable, my daughter had to lift my mobility scooter in and out. I’d stay again if wheelchair access were available.

It’s an old building, but the rooms are spacious and the location is fantastic. Staff were kind: they upgraded us for free, and when I was a few minutes late checking out, they said I could take my time and offered to store our luggage. We smoke, so having no balcony meant going outside each time. The price was exceptional, though, so we made that trade-off. I’d stay again.

The beds were uncomfortable, and roof construction noise woke us several times early in the morning. The place is dated and dirty, with cleanliness below standard, and far too expensive for what you get. The elevator was slow and unnerving, with construction materials covering it, and we couldn’t use the balcony. A very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We were surprised by how comfortable the apartment was. There were two bedrooms and enough room for four, plus a kitchen with cooking facilities and even a washing machine. It’s right at the entrance to Hosier lane, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and music venues. Outside noise was the one drawback, though we still slept well and expected some city sound. We booked through bookings.com and would stay again.
