Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport by IHG

Having three young kids, a late 2:00 p.m. checkout was a blessing after our morning flight was cancelled and moved to late afternoon. As members, we were accommodated without fuss. The staff also stored our extra luggage so the room wouldn’t get too cramped, and gave the kids a welcome kit to keep them busy. Kids eat free is great value for families, and we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant. We were glad we booked the Holiday Inn. It’s close to the airport and the shuttle is easy to access. We’d happily stay again.

Our room was clean and quiet, with fresh beds, a clean bathroom and a great airport view. We’re celebrating our 10 year anniversary, and Ibby must have heard about it because they gave us a free icy cold drink at the bar. Ibby was lovely, welcomed us warmly and handled check-in thoroughly. Not sure why people are sooking about this place, we think it’s great. Such a nice start to our overseas trip. Thanks to Ibby and all the staff.

The staff were terrific, and when my flight was cancelled they made it easy for me to stay a second night. Both rooms were very clean, and the beds and pillows were great. The bathrooms might need updating soon. Room service arrived faster than I expected. On my second night, the young woman delivering it, Syvara or something like that, was so helpful and delightful. Thank you to the whole Holiday Inn at Melb airport team.

The team were excellent, friendly and welcoming from beginning to end, and I really appreciated how helpful they were. But I couldn’t get comfortable in the room, especially trying to sleep at night. It had popcorn ceilings, very old bathrooms and a strong old smell that was noticeable and bothersome. The rooms are outdated and clearly need renovation. As much as I valued the kind, attentive service, the room condition matters more to me, so I’d choose another hotel next time unless major renovations happen.
